The seals playing on the buoy's and the pelicans on the beach were just a few of the many wildlife animals that we enjoyed on the cruise to the islands. Mostly, it was just great for Doedy to get a break in her care giving for Michael. Her days and nights are long, but of course, not as long for us as for our precious Michael! It was so special for me to be able to spend this time with Michael and Doedy. Keep them both in your prayers. They have a very long road to travel in this journey and they need our help in prayer.
A little bit of this and that...adventures in real estate, life in the Red Stick, being a Grand Mother, organic gardening, fishing, biking, whatever...

The Visit to Santa Barbara!
Shortly after I arrived in Santa Barbara, Lisa came by to visit and we had our first photo. Here is Lisa, Michael and Doedy Orchowski and myself in Doedy's front yard. It was great to see Lisa again and of course, Michael and Doedy! Michael is his oncologist's longest surviving glioblastoma patient! He is a very amazing guy and in December Michael was diagnosed with ALS, or "Lou Gehrig's" disease.
Right across the street from Doedy and Michael's is the Pacific Ocean. Michael likes to get into his "Red Flyer" and go for an afternoon stroll. You can certainly see why. The views and the scenery are outstanding and the air just doesn't get any fresher than that.
On Friday, Doedy and I went on an adventure to Santa Cruz island. We went with about 25/30 other tourists on the boat for 2.5 hours across the Santa Barbara Bay to the island, unloaded the kayaks and toured the Painted Caves for about 3 hours. Then lunch was served and we went back to Santa Barbara in time for dinner.
